Last Friday the Lady Panthers met the Baldwin County Bravettes in what turned out to be a battle of penalty kicks after forcing overtime in a heated soccer game.

"We led 3-0 at the half," Lady Panther coach Jarvis McArthur said.

But the Bravettes kicked their way back into the game, forcing the overtime where they eventually won by 1 goal (4-3).

"It was a heartbreaker," the coach said. "Elyssa Lemapu scored two goals and we got another from Mystery Ellert."

But the coach said his girls will get a chance at redemption as they face Baldwin again on April 4 at home for senior day.

The day after the heartbreaker last week, the girls were back on the field against a tough Richmond Hill.

"We played tough in the first half against a very skilled Richmond Hill team," McArthur said. "They led 2-1 at halftime. The Wildcats wore us down in the second half and pulled away for a 6-1 win. Lemapu scored our only goal."

The Lady Panther squad is currently 4-6 overall and 2-3 in Region 3-AAA. McArthur and the girls host Washington County at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
