Despite having a solid effort, and scoring 12 runs in their last two games, the Long County High School softball team (0-3) has yet to pick up that first win of the year.
Last weekend the girls traveled to Reidsville to play in the Tattnall County Girl's Softball Tournament and took on Vidalia High School on Friday.
The Lady Tide were no match for the Lady Indians, and was slammed 8-0 in the afternoon game.
On Saturday, the ladies took on Southeast Bulloch High School in the early game, and had a much better outing, than they did the night before.
The Long Ladies, were able to score 8 runs in the game, but couldn't slow down the Yellow Jacket bats, as the Blue girls got stung 15-8, sending the girls back to Ludowici.
This past Monday the girls traveled to Bryan County to take on Richmond Hill High School. This game was one which could have went either way, but in the end the Wild Cats proved to be too much for the Blue Tide, as the 3-AAA school won 6-4.
The Lady Blue Tide will have their first 2-AA Region game this Tuesday, August 26th when they take on Appling County High School.
The Lady Pirates bring a 1-3 record into the game, but don't be fooled by that, they will be tough and ready to play. Last year, the girl's from Blackshear swept both games from the Lady Tide, and will be looking to continue their success against the Ludowici Ladies.
The Blue Tide girls will also be looking for success, and doing everything they can to garner that first win. That game will be in Ludowici and the first pitch will be thrown at 5:00 PM.
