Lady Tiger softball team honored at banquet

A difficult season didn’t deter the Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers from celebrating players and individual accomplishments at their annual softball banquet Saturday at the VFW.
Tiger coaches Sharyl and Jeff Eastlake, parents and players gathered for a potluck lunch and slide show.
The Lady Tigers had a relatively young squad this season and only one senior, Kelsey Rogers. They had five juniors and seven freshmen. In their junior varsity squad the Lady Tigers had five eighth-graders. Rogers earned her third-year bar and on the 2008-09 Lady Tiger award.
Juniors Patrice Antalan, Brandi Huerd, Danielle Jacobs and Tamika Lipscomb as well as sophomores Danielle Durham, Suede Jones and Kaitlyn Stacy earned their bars.
Freshmen Tiara Howard, Barbara Rego and Lara Tlacuatl earned their first year letter.

Junior varsity coaches award: Tiara Howard
Junior varsity most improved player: Karson Rogers
Junior varsity MVP: Rachel Ray
Varsity silver slugger: Patrice Antalan
Varsity comeback player of the year: Tamika Lipscomb
Varsity golden glove award: Brandi Huerd
Varsity coaches award: Kaitlyn Stacy
Varsity most improved player: Danielle Durham
Varsity MVP: Barbara Rego
